Traffic comes automatically and it is directly proportional to revenue

I have seen a lot of people quit blogging because it is not bringing in the amount of money they expect. When it comes to an ecommerce store, patience is an important virtue. You need to be patient while you promote your site till when the traffic starts coming in. The truth is that sometimes, the traffic does not actually represent the revenue. A web user visiting your ecommerce is the same as an individual walking into an offline store, probably a boutique. He or she may end up not buying anything for so many reasons. It is true that you can hardly generate income without traffic but traffic does not mean that you are generating income.

You do not need any experience

This is one misconception that makes people waltz into ecommerce and end up complaining. Despite the fact that they internet has made things easier does not mean just anybody can do it. It ia true that you do not need to be a expert web designer or web developer to run an ecommerce store. However, you need knowledge of some basic things if you are to run that ecommerce store successfully. You need adequate knowledge of what you want to sell, knowledge of analysis and a host of others. Without knowledge of these components you will not be able to run your ecommerce store successfully.

Ecommerce stores are for big firms

Nothing is too small to be sold globally. All you need is the right packaging and promotion. If you have knowledge of SEO then you will also know that google now runs local SEO. This way, people can get what they want from those offering it close to them. This means that making your ecommerce store SEO friendly will help you get the attention of potential customers around you. Social media is also another good means of starting an ecommerce store. The only thing is that you take a different and a more professional approach. No matter how small or how insignificant you consider what you want to sell, there is space for it on the internet if you are willing to take that space.

There are many other misconceptions about starting an ecommerce store that some people are still seriously holding on to. Some ate hindering people from starting up while other make people rush into starting an ecommerce store blindly. Whatever the case, equip yourself with the proper and adequate information before you decide whether or not to venture into starting an ecommerce store.
