I’m very impressed with the VicTsing Android 5.1 TV Box. This media box makes your TV smart, and your Smart TV even smarter. It’s essentially a feature-rich, high spec, compact computer for your TV — Any TV — or monitor which has an HDMI port. It has the Rockchip 3368 Octa Core Cortex-A53 CPU with 64 bits, up to 1.5GHZ. It supports OpenGL ES3.1, OpenCL 1.2 and DirectX 9.3. The imaging is way ahead of the curve, very high resolution with full HD 1080P and supporting 4K2K. This is basically a computer for your TV or another monitor. It lets you see and operate an Android OS screen on your TV all controlled by the included remote control.
You can do whatever you can do on an Android tablet including using Google apps, etc. You can also hook up a mouse (wired or wireless) and use a keyboard as well using Bluetooth 4.0.The box is compact so you can place just about anywhere in the room without looking obvious. You can play videos, podcasts, music etc. from network storage or local digital media files or SD Card, USB Drives, NAS, over DLNA, SMB, NFS or FTP. There’s some pre-installed apps that include: Youtube, Netflix, Facebook, Twitter and Skype, and you also can play a myriad of android games on your large TV screen or monitor smoothly without any problems.
Install your favourite apps and away you go.The setup was very easy. You connect the main power leads and the HDMI lead from the box to the TV. You can then connect your mouse or keyboard to the USB ports on the box (rear). I use a Bluetooth wireless mouse and have had no problems–any media playback is absolutely perfect. I’ve hooked up USB pen drives to the USB hubs also plus I used Bluetooth headphones and Bluetooth speaker and everything worked flawlessly.Hooking up to WiFi and the Ethernet was a breeze. You can use either one of these or switch between the two. The box will work with 2.4GHz routers. No matter how you’re connected, the box works great with no interruptions no matter what apps, devices, music, videos, browser–everything works great with either WiFi or Ethernet.Mediabox launcher is the home screen for Android and has icons for a network, USB plus it shows the time and date.
It also shows the pre-installed apps and anything you add later like iPlayer and Amazon. At Mediabox launcher you can also access files, download apps, play videos and music and connect with TeamViewer (a remote connection app). There’s lots of accessibility here too. You can set up language, resolution and you link up to Twitter, Facebook, Google and email accounts. All the apps I’ve used like Amazon, Chrome, Daily Motion, Spotify, eBay, Paypal–everything works as it should.
Bluetooth works fantastic with speakers and my remote control worked from my Nexus Tablet. I downloaded TeamViewer app in order to get remote access from my tablet. The browser is basically the same as any decent computer and email works flawlessly. It’s great that I can sit in my living room and switch to email without missing a beat, very convenient. The Emish Android 5.1 box is a very powerful entertainment/TV computer. The fact that you can cut through all the other devices and just use your television to access anything you want is an incredible gift. The kids love it for games (online or in storage), I like it for easy access to the internet, YouTube, browsing, getting my news from many different sources and my girlfriend can watch her shows on regular television, Netflix or Hulu, really a great little box.
I’ve been able to get an excellent resolution with this box; it’s probably the best looking that my 50 inch screen has seen. And the sound through my theatre speakers is really great–the music and video sound is pretty impressive. Overall I can say that this is the best box out there. I’ve done all the research and price searching to find the best bang for the buck and the Emish Android 5.1 is really the tops. Now if I can keep the kids off the big screen I’ll be all set up!
