Just purchased the Duronic desk-mount bracket for my 70 year old father, to raise his 22″ LG monitor and hopefully prevent further neck pain. I’m a big fan of desk-mount brackets and especially like the Cable Mountain cantilever desk-mount brackets – I use these personally at home and at work. But I thought I’d save a tenner and try the Duronic brand since it was surprise gift. I have to say, I’m impressed for the price! This Duronic bracket comes in 4 main pieces – you will need a cross-head screwdriver to put it together – not a problem if you’re OK with DIY or following flat-pack type instructions. Allen keys, screws, VESA mount screws, spacers, cable tidy velcro straps and install guide all included.Once built, the bracket arms give your monitor various options; Up, down, left, right, in, out, plus the monitor angle can be tilted up and down and rotated left and right through 360 degrees, if your cables are long enough. It’s also quite a large bracket in respect of length when fully extended, be it in front of you or positioned to the left or right. My father is now considering a 2nd monitor using another Duronic bracket, as a result of the extra space provided around his desk area.
As a side-note, I highly recommend at least 2 monitors for a better and more efficient working environment, be it business or for just pleasure, horse racing in my dads case. This bracket seems to be of robust construction, and definitely lighter in weight in comparison to the Cable Mountain and other brackets I’ve tried in the past. This is a positive when installing the bracket or adjusting the position. I also like the twist and lock mechanism for adjusting the height, very simple to make height changes. Most other brackets use a basic Allen key lock which can be clumsy. And since I’ve mentioned the Cable Mountain cantilever bracket above, this uses a quick-release lever bracket, also very easy to adjust. The Duronic design is good, looks stylish, has an integrated cable tidy under both arms to tuck away your VGA/DVI/HDMI/Power cables, and a protective pad for the desk surface. The VESA 75 and 100 monitor mounting configuration covers most monitors and LCD TV’s. Simple to install; remove your monitor/TV stand and screw the Duronic VESA plate to your monitor/TV using the included screws. All in all, a very good desk-mount monitor bracket for the price.
